Some people are lucky enough to find what truly makes them happy in their professional life. Susan feels her past professional life has brought her to this point.
Her twelve years of experience as a Registered Nurse led her to value the hands-on therapies to help healing processes or to give comfort and ease from pain.
After graduation from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 2003, Susan successfully wrote the Ontario Board exams completing the requisites for registration in the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She is currently a member, in good standing, with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
In 2010, Susan earned a Diploma in Combined Decongestive Therapy at the Toronto Lymphocare Centre. This 150 hour course provided the knowledge and skills to provide lymphatic drainage to a person with a healthy lymphatic system and, finally the ability to care for someone with a compromised lymphatic system whether deemed primary or secondary lymphedema. Susan is currently a member of the Lymphedema Association of Ontario. She is also an Authorizer for compression garments within the Adaptive Devices Program.
Susan has taken further professional development courses in Breast Massage, Sports Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone Therapy, Kinesio Taping, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and Combined Decongestive Therapy.
Susan’s work experience in massage therapy has been in multidisciplinary settings, and she continues to foster working relationships with professionals across the spectrum to attain the best outcomes for her clients.
